A COMPARATIVE STUDIES ON PERMANENT DEFORMATIONS OF ALGINATE IMPRESSION MATERIALS

Abstract
|
|
|
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the water-powder` ratio on the permanent. deformation of the two types of the alginate impression materials.
Specimens were made with two kinds.of conventional alginate impression materials:;hrid two kinds of dust-free alginate impressin´ materials, ,which, were :currently used in Korea, and .´? permanent deformations of them were measured with: the instrument for measuring permanent deformation.
The results were as follows:
1. All the alginate impression materials which used in this study were agreed with the A.D.A. specification No.
2. The permanent deformations of some kinds of alginate impression materials(A and P) were increased by the increase of the water-powder ratio.
3. There was no significant difference between the permanent deformation of conventional alginate impression materials and that of dust-free alginate impression materials.
